MIchael Chandler finally clarified his outrageous claims that he beats Charles Oliveira "9 times out of 10". This is despite the fact that 'Do Bronx' already beat him twice in two bouts.
You don't have to be a mathematician to know that the math in Chandler's assessment makes zero sense. The internet didn't take long to chew up the former Bellator lightweight champ for his seemingly broken logic.
In a recent thread on his X account, 'Iron' did an impromptu "Ask Me Anything" session while chilling in a hyperbaric chamber. X user @JayJayJayO promptly asked him the question everyone had in their minds at the moment:
"What is the logic behind saying you would beat Oliveira 9 times out of 10 but are currently 0-2 against him?"

Michael Chandler responded to him by saying:
"Clarification …9 out of the next 10 times."
To thrive and survive in this brutal sport, one has to have an inhuman level of self-belief. 'Iron' merely exudes this level of self-belief by stating his bold claim.
What exactly did Michael Chandler say about him beating Charles Oliveira "9 times out of 10"?
Michael Chandler first said the now-infamous "9 times out of 10" statement in a guest appearance at The Ariel Helwani Show on YouTube just over a week ago. This was on the heels of 'Iron' losing to 'Do Bronx' via a unanimous decision at UFC 309 last month.
This makes it 0-2 between Chandler and Oliveira, after the Brazilian submission artist also beat the American powerhouse at UFC 262 via TKO back in 2021. During an interaction, Michael Chandler said:
"I mean, I'm not happy with my performance [at UFC 309]. I mean, I would give myself a 2 out of 10. I cannot overstate how horrible a performance this was or set of circumstances it was after that first round, compared to what my vision was for what I am capable of.
He then said the now-infamous line:
"And I believe I beat Charles Oliveira nine times out of 10. Obviously I've lost twice to him now. Two out of two. I have 100% loss rate to Charles Oliveira. So I understand why people might tsk at that, roll their eyes at that."
